Poland!

Here are a few pictures from Poland in the area where we have had dinner for the past two nights. This is the area of Wroclaw where everyone gathers in the evening to hang out. Interesting place to do some people watching.

Europa! Verwelkomen!

Europe! Arrived in Dusseldorf, Germany after flying all night from New York. We flew far enough to the north that the northern sky never got completely dark which was a little wierd. We spent the morning waking around downtown Dusseldorf. Not many people were out since the stores did not open until 10:00 AM. We left Dusseldorf and got to Venlo about noon and checked in here at the hotel. Time in Utah right now is 6:00 AM. Here in Venlo it is 2:00 PM Sunday afternoon. It is a nice day here but very humid. Lots of trees. Lots of modern wind mills for generating power. Lots of fast drivers. On our way here on the freeway we were driving about 90 miles an hour and a BMW flew past us like we were standing still. I can't even guess at how fast he was going but I would say about close to 150. Crazy! We are going to have some dinner here at the hotel at about 4:00 PM and then I am going to try and stay awake until about noon Utah time and finally get some sleep. I am running on 2 hours of sleep over the past 24 hours. Took lots of picutres today since it may be our only free day to do some sightseeing. I have attached a few picturs below.

Picture taken in downtown Dusseldorf. Canal running down the middle of the main downtown road.

More Dusseldorf................

We were greeted by a bunch of old cars when arriving in Venlo. Check out the American flag! It was so nice of them!

A little road right near our hotel. I went for a little walk to stay awake. Lots of people riding bikes and mopeds and speaking gibberish.

The hotel where I am staying. It is at the end of a residentail street like the one above. Luckily we had a GPS in our car or we would have never found it. We did take one wrong turn down a bike path and went a couple of blocks before we figured out what was going on. The lady on the GPS said turn right and we turned right! Several people were shaking their fists at us.

Have a great day!

Grayson's award winning Valentine's box

Take a look at the video of Grayson's Valentine's box. It's in honor of Uncle Bryan. Happy Valentines Day to you and yours!

2/14 - Out of the woods yet? NOT. Forgot that we live in the woods!!

So just when I thought the weather was turning in our favor look what happens? 170 of Grayson's classmates had to spend the night at school last night because they couldn't make it home. Good thing Grayson's last name starts with "F" so he is on bus #1. The other buses got stranded. Channel 2 news broadcasted live from his school last night on the 10 o'clock news. We woke up to 4 foot drifts on our driveway! I actually made it up the Utah county side of the mountain in the trusty Jeep Wrangler at about 10:00 PM last night right when they were reporting that the road was closed and impassable. No one was there to block the road so I went for it. It was a white nuckler and I drove a good part of the way from memory due to white out conditions. Check out the jeep pictures after I got home!! Enjoy, and remember to send ice melt.

Grayson home from school! Snow Day!!!!!!

Back to reality

OK - Back to reality and the 10 foot snow levels of our yard. We are hopefull with the sun this past weekend that our snow has peaked. I used the Jeep in these pictures as a point of reference for you to see what we are dealing with here. Send ice melt please!!

Notice the mailboxes in this picture.

Yes, Felt Family, there is sun out there...

....and I have seen it! evidence above. I am enthusiastically (sp?) endorsing a Hawaii vacation to anyone! Take me with you !!!!!!! MRDF

More snow! January 21, 2008

Just another day in Suncrest after about 15" of snow. The piles are getting deeper. Our 3 and 4 foot fences in the backyard are no longer visable. Snow is now at least 7 feet deep in the center of our front yard. Our 6 foot tall frame for our backyard swing has about 1 more foot before it completely disappears. I will need to post some pictures of it on the next post. Enjoy! (Click on the pictures for a bigger view)
