Europa! Verwelkomen!

Europe! Arrived in Dusseldorf, Germany after flying all night from New York. We flew far enough to the north that the northern sky never got completely dark which was a little wierd. We spent the morning waking around downtown Dusseldorf. Not many people were out since the stores did not open until 10:00 AM. We left Dusseldorf and got to Venlo about noon and checked in here at the hotel. Time in Utah right now is 6:00 AM. Here in Venlo it is 2:00 PM Sunday afternoon. It is a nice day here but very humid. Lots of trees. Lots of modern wind mills for generating power. Lots of fast drivers. On our way here on the freeway we were driving about 90 miles an hour and a BMW flew past us like we were standing still. I can't even guess at how fast he was going but I would say about close to 150. Crazy! We are going to have some dinner here at the hotel at about 4:00 PM and then I am going to try and stay awake until about noon Utah time and finally get some sleep. I am running on 2 hours of sleep over the past 24 hours. Took lots of picutres today since it may be our only free day to do some sightseeing. I have attached a few picturs below.

Picture taken in downtown Dusseldorf. Canal running down the middle of the main downtown road.

More Dusseldorf................

We were greeted by a bunch of old cars when arriving in Venlo. Check out the American flag! It was so nice of them!

A little road right near our hotel. I went for a little walk to stay awake. Lots of people riding bikes and mopeds and speaking gibberish.

The hotel where I am staying. It is at the end of a residentail street like the one above. Luckily we had a GPS in our car or we would have never found it. We did take one wrong turn down a bike path and went a couple of blocks before we figured out what was going on. The lady on the GPS said turn right and we turned right! Several people were shaking their fists at us.

Have a great day!
